Our ethical approach
“Make Mom Proud” has always been a guiding principle at Rinse. To that end, our Valets are W-2 employees of Rinse.
Unlike independent contractors, Valets receive benefits such as paid sick time, paid rest breaks, mileage reimbursement, workers’ compensation insurance, and employer-paid tax benefits.
Empowering local businesses
We take pride in partnering with the best local cleaners and providing them with tools and training to help them grow their business and deliver a consistent, high-quality cleaning experience with every order.
Industry leaders in sustainability
No harmful chemicals
Unlike conventional dry cleaners, Rinse never uses perchloroethylene (PERC), a known carcinogen to humans and animals.
Save water & energy
Our high-efficiency, commercial-grade washers and dryers use much less water and energy than in-home machines, all without compromising cleaning quality.
We collect any gently-worn clothing you would like to donate and make sure they get to a charitable organization, rather than the landfill.
Reuse hangers and plastic bags
We’re happy to collect, reuse, and recycle any unwanted wire hangers and plastic bags that we use to protect your Rinse orders.
Why we started Rinse
Our co-founder and COO, James, grew up in dry cleaning. He helped his parents’ in their dry cleaning storefront in South San Francisco and developed an obsession for cleaning quality and a deep appreciation for how hard local cleaners work to serve their customers.
In 2013, Rinse was founded to provide a world-class, stress-free laundry and dry cleaning experience for customers, while also empowering and growing top-flight local cleaners.
We are building the first national brand in clothing care so that you can spend more time doing the things you love while still taking care of such an important chore.
